MAC x Lorde Pure Heroine Lipstick Review

When MAC announced that they were going to launch a lipstick with Lorde, I was stoked. I love Lorde's witchy, almost gothic style (not to mention her music is flawless) and I love a good purple lip. 

Although I'm disappointed that the extent of the MAC x Lorde collection is this lipstick and an eyeliner, Pure Heroine ($16) is an absolutely stunning lipstick.

Easy Fall look!

I posted this look on Instagram a few days ago (you can follow me here!!) and I couldn't resist making a post about it. Fall is the time for smokier eyes and darker lips but lately I've been stuck in either or of two opposites. Thick eyeliner and dramatic lips or beautifully simple, where I usually focus on a clean and sculpted canvas with dramatic top and bottom lashes being the focal point.

Movie Look! (Feat. Revlon)

While I was looking through my sample drawer yesterday, I found a lipstick that I completely forgot about, Revlon's Sultry Sable.

What made this particular lipstick stand out to me is that most of the very dark, vampy lipsticks I wear are always purple based (such as Tom Ford's Black Orchid or Revlon's Black Cherry) and this one is strictly red based, coming out as a very dark burgundy.

Considering this departure from my usual picks, I fell in love with it and decided to center my whole look around it.
