My Review:
Would I recommend this? No, not really, but if you watch the trailer and it captures your attention, go for it. On the other hand, I would definitely recommend the graphic novel.
The movie adaptation of The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen comic is widely panned as being generally terrible, not just as an adaptation but as a movie. I haven't sat down and seen the complete movie before, only clips of it when it would play on tv.
The movie is, well, terrible. The biggest issue is that at times it's very campy, but instead of playing that up, it tries to take itself too seriously which only ruins the experience of watching it.
The characters share nothing with their comic counterparts and I will not go into the differences between the comic and the film because to be honest, it's too much to count.
I heard that the movie was written before the graphic novel was released and if that's true, it's fairly obvious.
Would I recommend this? No, not really, but if you watch the trailer and it captures your attention, go for it. On the other hand, I would definitely recommend the graphic novel.
