Beautiful Creatures series by Kami Garcia and Margeret Stohl: I originally read the first book in this series since the trailer for the movie adaptation caught my attention. This was a supernatural series that was fun and action packed but didn't take itself too seriously. Definitely recommended.

Delirium Trilogy by Lauren Oliver: This was the year of the series to me and this dystopian trilogy where any extreme emotion, including love, are forbidden and its citizens are lobotomized at the age of 18 is really thought provoking and continues to be one of my favorite series.

Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn: This was the first Gillian Flynn novel I read and I was not disappointed. This novel is entertaining with its twists and turns and well deserving of the hype. A great fast read and I plan to read Flynn's other works.

Light by Michael Grant: The finale of the widely acclaimed Gone series, it's a great conclusion to one of the most unique series I've ever read. If you've thought about reading this series then I would absolutely recommend it. It's superbly well done and each installment stands on its own and drives the story forward without a dull moment.

Reboot by Amy Tintera: I was unsure about this novel but I think this was my favorite book of the year. A unique take on the zombie genre where dead bodies 'reboot' and come back physically stronger and less emotional, it's was super entertaining and I can't wait to read the sequel, Rebel

Shades of Earth by Beth Revis: Another series! The third and final book to the science fiction trilogy Across The Universe. I don't want to spoil anything but it's a great conclusion and the ending definitely brought all the feels.

This Is Not A Test by Courtney Summers: This is another zombie book and more straight forward and what you expect of the genre. It's a fast read and filled the gap between waiting for the next season of The Walking Dead.

When We Wake by Karen Healey: Another stand out of 2013! Seriously, just read it. It's amazing. Read my in-depth review here.
