November Favorites 2013!

Becca Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector: To be honest, I was suspicious if this product would work for me. I prefer my makeup to be slightly glowy and not overly matte and I was afraid this primer would leave my face flat but ALAS, this is has become my holy grail primer. It sets my makeup FOREVER, making it look like a second skin and keeps my oily t-zone nonexistent. An absolute must if you're oily and live a hot climate like I do.

Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara: Another holy grail product of mine. I have a terrible reputation with most mascaras completely flaking and rubbing off my bottom lashes (including my well loved YSL Shocking Mascara *sad face*) but this one never smears, flakes and is amazingly waterproof. It gives amazing length and twiggy-like lashes and bonus: it's only $10.

Mac Lipstick in Ruby Woo: I have had a glorious love affair with Mac Lipsticks (and still going strong!) They have a huge range of shades to choose from and their formula is super long lasting and never bleeds, transfers or wears off. Once I put it on, I don't have to worry about touching up and that's all I think anybody looks in a lipstick: beautiful and no-fuss. I've been wearing really bold lipsticks lately, from dark reds to violets and this one is a perfect blue toned matte red that is one of their best sellers since it suits pretty much everyone. If you're looking for a 40s style red lip then I recommend you check this one out. It will probably suit your skin tone and look gorgeous.

Maybelline Color Show Twilight Rays: I've been gravitating towards this nail polish all month and it's a great subtle alternative to black. It has tiny shimmers of emerald running throughout and it never chips or loses its shine.

Neutrogena Triple Moisture Silk Touch Leave-In Hair Cream: I'm very low maintenance about my hair. After the shower, I just brush it and put it in a braid to air dry and forget about it. What attracted me to this product was the UV shield. I have natural black hair and I've noticed that my hair, especially the crown where the sun usually hits, is more dry and dull then the rest of my hair. Just like you need sunscreen on your face, you also need it on your hair and this product has helped with preventing sun damage and has an added bonus of conditioning my ends.

Revlon Color Burst Lip Butter in Raspberry Pie: Yay more colorful lips! This is a beautiful drugstore berry color that has good wear time (usually three hours before I need to touch up) and conditions at the same time. As a tip, I would say that the color grabs on better when you use this as a two-in-one lip balm and lipstick since if your lips are too moisturized, it won't last as long.

Soleil Tan de Chanel Bronzing Makeup Base: This is a product outside of my comfort zone since I usually stick to powder bronzers not cream but I really like it. It's quite dark so a little goes a long way but it gives amazing definition to the cheekbones and jawline.

When We Wake by Karen Healey: Technically read this in October but I finished it in November so I thought to include it. You can read my full review here but seriously, this book was so much fun and truly a joy to read. It was entertaining, action packed AND carried a loaded political message. I can't wait for the sequel to come out in 2014 and I'm pretty hyped for this series. Go read it!
