Review: Ren Jojoba Microbead Purifying Facial Polish!

I've been on the hunt for the perfect exfoliator lately and one thing I've discovered in my search is that every exfoliator is completely different from the other. While the desired end result is the same, some exfoliators are more abrasive, some are baby soft, and some are in the middle. I believe that exfoliating is an essential staple in your skincare routine and for each skin type and personal preference, each person needs one for their own needs.
Ren Jojoba Microbead Purifying Facial Polish ($35) is a mild exfoliator that feels more like a textured cream. According to Ren, it's supposed to keep skin "feeling purified, invigorated, and smoothed." I like Ren's policy of not using harsh chemicals in their products such as parabens and sulfates and while it did leave my skin looking radiant, it didn't feel clean and that it did anything worthwhile. It just felt like I slapped some temporary filter on my face and I was supposed to be "wowed" by the results. It's very heavy, almost too heavy for my face and it didn't do what it was supposed to do.
I would recommend this if you prefer a gentler exfoliator that doesn't completely strip your skin and is moisturizing enough for the winter months. But if (like me), you like a little grit to your facial polishes and exfoliators, then I wouldn't waste your time with this one.
